Pu Meng is a current Ph.D. student in the Linguistics Program. Her areas of interest include language documentation, language acquisition and cognitive processes, tense and aspect, and dialect studies. She is currently researching tense and aspect in the Weifang dialect of Mandarin, comparing these markers with those in the standard language, while also contributing to the documentation of this variety. She is particularly interested in how tense and aspect are expressed across different dialects, and how these forms interact with cognition and language acquisition processes. She is also interested in comparative studies across English, French, Cantonese, Korean, and Japanese languages.
