Phonetics, Phonology, Second Language Acquisition, Language Documentation and Revitalization
Giulia Masella Soldati is a Ph.D. student in the Linguistics Program. Her areas of interest include phonetics/phonology, second language acquisition, and language documentation and revitalization. Her current research is on Akuzipik, an endangered language spoken on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska. Giulia was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil; she became an English language instructor when she was 19 years old, and it was her passion for languages and for teaching that made her decide to pursue a career in Linguistics.
