Current Research
I am conducting research for publication and the Doctoral Dissertation on the acoustic correlates of English lexical stress. These studies investigate the impact of L1 (Arabic, Chinese, Spanish) on the production of English word stress. It also examines the effect of syllable count on these acoustic correlates. These studies reexamine theoretical models of second language acquisition such as Speech Learning Model, Perceptual Assimilation Model, L2 perception model and their revised versions.
