It is well-known that English has the largest diversity in its form, called accents. The lecturer's research team is aiming at automatic and individual-based clustering of World Englishes accents, based on how the diversity can be visualized. In Dec 2012, the lecturer visited GMU and talked about possibility of automatic clustering of World Englishes. In the current talk, he explains the research progress since then and also describes the problems that his team is being faced with.
