Mason linguists go to TALGS

Four linguists from Mason traveled to East Carolina University over the weekend of February 10 to present their research at the TESOL & Applied Linguistics Graduate Student Conference. They gave talks with the following titles:

  • The Impact of Cross-linguistic Influences on L2 Development of an Urdu Speaking Language Informant (presented by Nilima Hakim Mow)
  • French Article Learning for Adult Second Language Acquisition: Diagnostics and Mnemonics (presented by Pu Meng)
  • Phrasal Verb Syntax in the ESL Classroom: A Diagnostic for Separable Particles (presented by Arlee Jade Pearlswig)
  • Perfectly puzzling: Using a mnemonic to teach the present perfect to adult ELLs (presented by Janalyn A. Miklas)
