Overview of typological traditions describing the scope of diversity and similarity across languages. Topics include classical and contemporary approaches to human language typology and the place of human language in the broader typology of communication systems. Offered by English. May not be repeated for credit. Equivalent to LING 685.
Recommended Prerequisite: LING 500
Registration Restrictions:

Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy, Graduate, Junior Plus, Non-Degree or Senior Plus.

Students in a Non-Degree Undergraduate degree may not enroll.
