Examines first language acquisition from a linguistic perspective. Covers the development of a first phonology, syntax, and semantics. Emphasizes research methods in the study of child language. Offered by English. Equivalent to LING 580.
Recommended Prerequisite: LING 531/731, 532/732, 533/733, 535/735, 536/736, 537/737, or 538/638 (or undergraduate equivalent)

Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy, Graduate, Junior Plus, Non-Degree or Senior Plus.
Students in a Non-Degree Undergraduate degree may not enroll.
