Section Information for Spring 2020

This course supports students in the development of a qualifying paper. Students will develop original empirical research projects on topics of their choosing. Seminar discussions will focus on writing, research strategies and conventions, time management, and presentation skills. Seminar meetings will ensure that students are making satisfactory progress on their work and receiving feedback from their peers in the process. Resulting papers serve as drafts of qualifying papers, which should ideally be publishable in a linguistics journal or peer-reviewed conference proceedings.
